Nacida en Azusa, California y de padres mexicanos, Lizette Salas llega a celebrar la quinceañera del Campeonato de golf de Walmart NW Championship más madura que nunca. “Al principio cuando comencé a venir a este torneo, yo creo que fui una jugadora diferente, ya madure, tengo mucha experiencia y ahora nos falta ganar este torneo, estoy muy emocionada de regresar y hacer un buen papel.” comentó Salas.
El Campeonato Walmart NW Championship es muy interesante, es un torneo de tres días, y de acuerdo a Salas, cada golpe a la pelota y cada movimiento dentro del terreno de juego cuenta. Para poder tener éxito y lograr estar entre los primeros lugares de este evento, hay que comenzar bien desde el principio. “Salir agresiva desde el primer día, me ha faltado, entonces quizá este puede ser el año para aprender de esas experiencia, y no dejarse, y como dijo mi mama, ganar o morir, esta semana tenemos el plan de ganar y hacer un buen papel.” Agrego Lizette.
Aun con la calidad de jugadoras y rivales como Stacy Lewis, Gaby Lopez, y Maria Fassi quienes cuentan con el apoyo de la afición local, la única rival que Salas tiene que vencer es a ella misma. “Este deporte es más mental que todo, y si, hay chicas aquí que son maravillosas, y cada semana están arriba en el leaderboard y todo, pero este tour es tan bueno que cualquier chica puede ganar esta semana, pero el rival más grande para mi es yo misma.” Concluyo Salas.
Lizette Salas arrancó hoy viernes en el grupo de Nasa Hiraoka y Lexi Thompson.

Born in Azusa, California to Mexican parents, Lizette Salas arrives at the Walmart NW Championship more mature than ever. “At the beginning when I started coming to this tournament, I think I was a different player, I matured, I had a lot of experience and now we have to win this tournament. I am very excited to come back and do a good job.” Salas commented.
The Walmart NW Championship is very interesting, it’s a three-day tournament, and according to Salas, every hit on the ball and every movement on the pitch counts. In order to be successful and be among the first places in this event, you have to start well from the beginning. “Going out aggressive from the first day, I have lacked, so maybe this could be the year to learn from those experiences, and not give up, and as my mom said, win or die, this week we have the plan to win and do a good paper.” Lizette added.
Even with the quality of players and rivals like Stacy Lewis, Gaby Lopez, and Maria Fassi who have the support of the local fans, the only rival Salas has to beat is herself. “This sport is more mental than everything, and yes, there are girls here who are wonderful, and every week they are up on the leaderboard and everything, but this tour is so good that any girl can win this week, but the biggest rival for me is myself.” Salas concluded.
