Bella Sampson soñaba con algún día vestir la camisola de su querida escuela. Ese sueño llego más rápido de lo esperado para la defensa de la Escuela Secundaria de Bentonville West: Las Glotonas. “Cuando fui a la pruebas del equipo, me sentía muy nerviosa. Pero cuando me dieron la noticia que había pasado la prueba, y conocí al resto de mis compañeras, me di cuenta del potencial que tenia nuestro equipo.” Dijo Bella.
Alex Castillo, director técnico de Las Glotonas relata que la preparación de su equipo para esta temporada dio inicio 48 horas después de haber terminado el año pasado. Pero el éxito de West es gracias al todo el personal que esta involucrado en el programa de futbol.
El trabajo hecho por las jugadores, y el compromiso a la excelencia que pusieron diariamente, les ha permitido estar en la final. Y ese esfuerzo no ha pasado desapercibido y fue así como Bella Sampson logro ganarse un puesto en el equipo de Castillo. “Bella es definitivamente una pieza integral para el futuro de nuestro programa. Lo ha demostrado este año. Bella cuenta con las habilidades, actitud, y una muy buena relación, y la veo como una de nuestras lideres a largo plazo. Nunca se rinde y te pelea cada balón, me encanta.” Dijo Castillo D.T. de Bentonville West.
Las Glotonas tienen de rival en la final al actual campeón estatal, Fayetteville. Será un partido muy difícil, ya que Las Purple Bulldogs cuentan con mas experiencia en partidos como estos. “ El equipo que aproveche los errores del rival encontrara la manera de salir victorioso, en lo personal agradezco a Dios por la oportunidad de llegar a la final.” Concluyo Castillo.
Bella sabe la magnitud y significado de este partido, pero Bella cuenta con Javi, su aficionado #1; quien la sigue cada partido, y vive cada minuto del juego a lado de su hermana. “ Mi Javi esta muy contento por los logros del equipo. Después de cada partido nos damos la mano, y su rostro se llena de alegría. Desde la eliminatoria al campeonato estatal, Javi se ha mostrado con el mismo entusiasmo y alegría que nosotras.” Concluyo Bella.
La Gran final por el titulo de la división 6A esta programada para el sábado 21 de Mayo a las 2.00 P.M.
El encuentro se jugara en la Escuela Secundaria de Benton localizada en 211 N. Border St, Benton, AR 72015
Todas las finales serán transmitidas a través de la NFHS

Bella Sampson dreamed of one day wearing the soccer jersey of her beloved school. That dream came faster than expected for the Bentonville West High School defender: The Wolverines. “When I first try out, I was very nervous. But once I found out I made the team, and got to know the girls, I realized all of the potential that this team had. We have amazing players and once I realized that, I knew we could go really far.” Bella said.
Alex Castillo, Head Coach of Bentonville West Lady Wolverines says that the preparation of his team for this season began 48 hours after finishing last year. But West’s success is thanks to the entire staff that is involved in the soccer program. The work done by the players, and the commitment to excellence they put in daily, has allowed them to be in the final. And that effort has not gone unnoticed and that is how Bella Sampson managed to earn a spot on Castillo’s team. “Bella is definitely an integral piece to the future of our program. She has proven that this year. Bella has the skills, attitude, and a relationship, to be a leader of this team in the future. Lots of fight in that one. I love that kid.” Said Castillo head coach of Bentonville West.
The Wolverines will face The Purple Bulldogs of Fayetteville in final; FHS is the current state champions. It will be a very difficult game, as the Purple Bulldogs have more experience in games like these. “The team that can exploit the others mistakes will find the game winner. It’s going to be a battle. It will be fun that is for sure I just praise God for the opportunity for our team to be there.” Castillo concluded.
Bella knows the magnitude and significance of this match, but Bella has Javi, her #1 fan; who follows her every game, and lives every minute of the game next to her sister. “I would day that My Javi is pretty excited for us. After every game we do our handshake and he seems pretty happy. Especially after our state games he has been just as excited as the team.” Bella concluded.
The State Finals for the 6A division title is scheduled for Saturday, May 21 at 2:00 P.M. The game will be played at Benton High School located at 211 N. Border St, Benton, AR 72015. All finals will be live stream on NFHS.
